Trouble stirs as rumors spread of secret liaisons and missing magical talismans. The spirit of Allan Pinkerton, founder of the Pinkerton National Detective Agency, is conjured to solve the crimes. But when someone comes to an untimely end, he now must solve the murder as well.

Everyone is in town for the equestrian event of the year, The Red River Gorge Games. They have also all come to the book signing for Houston Dallas’ new book, “A Horse is a Horse, Of Course of Course.

Houston arrives with his new girlfriend, Deneeze Arshot, who happens to be a French reining judge. Steed Roper, who was the reigning champion until he mysteriously disappeared two years ago, is also in attendance. Cheyenne Sassy is the current champion. The head judge this year is Taryn Wear. But Wear has become mad with power.

What will happen when they all get together? Nostrils will flare. Hooves may stomp. One thing is for sure, someone will end up dead in this hysterical horse-themed comedy-meets-murder by Paula Hilton.

The Mayflower Meats Company is holding its annual Gobble Trot 5K. Unfortunately, it's been a rough year for this little family-owned company. Following the death of its founder, William Bradford Sr, the Mayflower quickly sank into debt and then suffered a hostile takeover followed by pay cuts and layoffs.

New owner, Marvin Standish, sees this annual race as his chance to bond with his workers. But when William Bradford Jr. arrives unexpectedly, tempers boil, and reputations are roasted!
